I never explored it, my shared HQ teammate has. I can't nuke and the update text didn't indicate the meeting. I can't see this opponent in my diplomacy screen. No battle took place. Strider22Differences with team games. I'm thinking of allowing the stargates to send to any explored planet as a late game speedup when you have double the economy of the opposition. An more interactive scouting report. click on a map. or enter range of report and show map with ok or edit option. eg. I just made a report to show help a route to the front and was afraid of sending sensitive information. I initially had the +5,11 system when I only wanted the -5,11 system. Diplomacy max=trade. Add two missing fields on the series table; Description and Max_Allies. No fog of war option Random events; Played a game with 50 systems and I really liked the shared HQ bug that caused random systems to appear visible far off in the galaxy. Got to see fighting that was not affecting me. Thought about back story of big battles creating radiation that was visible for a distance based on the size of the battle. Could show all battles on minimap as brighter than normal systems. mmpg options; Never ending games. Cannot attack for X turns. Free passage if < 2X in size. It would be a lot of fun to have a 16 player game where you can only upgrade with 1 player. not just shared hq and then trade with 3 others. 1 allowance of diplomacy upgrade. Partner would see question at ET: "Did you move fleet east as partner requested?" This would allow faster ETs as asker would not have to re-logon. Nothing prevents lying except you can't say I didn't see your message. If the responder says no then the fleet stays put. As it is now, when you start a blitz, you either have to chack back every few minutes to see if anybody joined - sometimes for hours - or you risk missing your first moves. With an alarm, one could put the window in the background and do something else while waiting for another player. I'm not experienced at PHP, but I am willing to help with this once I find some time. Maybe some changes were necessary but I think some things that made the game fun were lost. Stargates: A stargate would stay set at “send to” after each turn. It did not send all the ships on the planet but only ships (or fleets) set to “enter stargate”. Also, any player not at war with you could send his ship (science if planet not explored) through your stargate. Fleets: Ships could be built “inside” a fleet. In other words, you could build ships and set the fleet to “enter stargate”. You could also build a terraformer and set the fleet to “terraform” (by doing this you can build and terraform on the same move). Also see Doomsday. Terraformers: This was not part of the old game but I always wondered why a terraformer can only be used on its owner’s planet. Why not give it the ability for use on anyone’s system? Doomsday: You could nuke yourself out of the game with a doomsday. This would show up on your stats as “self nuke” and rob your opponent of the nuke credit. Self-nukers were looked down upon. But sometimes the situation calls for it. For example: If your ally double-crosses you. Stats: The stats would show self-nukes. They would also show the URL that a player last logged in rom. This would be handy to catch cheaters. I used to watch players and take note of their URL if I suspected them of cheating. Maybe you could incorporate some of these things in your version. When the server went down in 1998 I quit playing. I tried the Stargate server and others but they were not the same. I just recently started playing again on Lug when maypo told me about homeserve. I use it a lot just to keep track of the system explored by my opponent or the tech selection he has already used and so on ! I hate to have to write that down on a piece of paper, that i'm going to lose anyway, sooner or later ! With an update every 24H and several games going at the same time, I'm sometimes completely lost, then I make huge mistakes. Force update on a game for testing purposes Misc upgradesList last 5 games finished on front page -code from game history Kia!!!!...really, i was worried we would NOT be adding new ships, (i.e. the Mining Ship, the Space Station(where ships could instantly be repaired after a battle regardless of BR or other circumstances), The Anti Matter ship, a ship that actually un-explores areas of the map which an opponant had previously explored, yeah, YOU know it is a cool idea... :) ...hmph, ok, no new ships, how about 'wild card' systems...? ...like a Sun system- uncolonizable, but perhaps it contributes to the ag of surrounding systems? ...an Asteroid belt- uncolonizable, and actually damages ships that pass through, or remain for extended turns. ...The Black Hole- there could be two of these on a map, and act a neutral jumpgates? ...just some thoughts, i love the game the way it is, and love playing, there is always room for growth and evolution though, for once something, anything, stops growing, it begins to die...?
